There is a small settlement Grohote at the intersection of the main road leading from Maslinica to Gornje Selo and connecting with the road to Rogac on the island of Solta, There are 425 inhabitants in Grohote, yet making it the largest island settlement. In addition, Grohote is also the oldest settlement on Solta, with all more important institutions on the island there: post office, police, schools, hunting and co-operative homes, oil mills, markets and helidromic health clinic.
