Croatian beaches - unspoiled paradise

Someone once said that You never know how many friends You have until you rent a house on the beach. What is the thing with the beaches? Why people love it? Is it because the sea allows You to think only the things You want to think? Or just the child in us enjoys to get dirty with the sand and splashed by the water? I don’t know.
Maybe it is better not to know, because knowing sometimes ruins all the magic. So, there is only one thing You should know. Croatian beaches are beautiful! The length of Croatian land borders is 2028 kilometers and the seashore line is more than twice longer, 5835,3 kilometers. It consists of cliffs and beaches. Some beaches are exciting and sexy, some are calm and fulfilling; some are simple and some are with bars, slides and funs of all type; some are promenade, yet some are hidden, waiting just for You to put out Your shoes and leave footprints all over. The truth is, weather You choose this or that beach, the sea will erase Your traces over night, but Your memory will not erase the traces of the beach from Your mind for a long, long time.
From North Adriatic coast to the distance South point, Croatian beaches are holding their hand like mermaids singing their enchanting summer songs. It would be pretentious of me to start counting all of them and listing their names and virtues. But some, I can’t skip. Most of Croatian beaches are pebbles, rock or narrow, but the water is cleanest on Mediterranean, and there isn’t any danger watching from the sea. Maybe, a few sea-urchins on the hidden beaches, but forgive them, they are unfailing insignia of the clean sea. Beaches are lined by olive trees and vineyards or untouched pine forests striving to the sea.
With the average sea temperature over 20 degrees in summer time, the whole Croatian coast is family friendly with the more than few beaches designed and maintained for secure swiming with children: Beaches of Rovinj, Crikvenica, Baška on island Krk, Lopar, Nin, Trogir, Makarska, Orebić, Korčula, Dubrovnik, along with famous Dugi Rat in Omiš. All of this beaches have shallow water accompanied with all sorts of activities and other water sports for older children, playgrounds in pines shades for an ice cream and a cold beer for moms and dads.
Ones with no commitment will find lots of places to look forward. Croatian party beaches are now famous all over the world. Beach bars grown in unspoiled nature are the guarantee enough for good time and, when this magical ambient joins with a crowd of happy dancing bodies, it makes the best time ever. Island Brač with the beach in Bol, Zlatni rat, nightlife in Dubrovnik and it’s beaches, Saharun beach on Dugi otok, island Hvar with it’s gold beaches, Slanica in Murter, famous Zrce on island Pag, beaches of Poreč, Rab, Girandella beach in Rabac, Bacvice beach in Split, and beaches in Ciovo and Vodice, are just some more visited destinations of world’s music artists and fun seeking people all over the globe.
For the ones searching for the nude beaches maybe the best choice is Valalta, near Rovinj in Istria, listed in a few top nude beaches of the world. It is good the nudist campsite with two miles of sand and rock beaches, including secluded coves, lined by olives and vineyards and well loved by bare beach connoisseurs. But it is only one of the many, or You can just find a small clandestine piece of seashore for yourself, to take the clothes off and abandon yourself to caress of the sea, sun rays and summer breeze.
I, myself, am not a fun of just lying and swimming, nor dancing on the beach is the only activity I enjoy in summer vacation. Beaches of islands Brac and Krk, Preluk bay near Opatija, Premantura near Medulin, Girandella and Ravni near Rabac, Jadrija near Sibenik, Savudrija near Umag and Viganj on peninsula Peljesac are the promised beaches for windsurfers. For the ones who experienced the underwater view and it captured their mind for life, there are Lucice cave on island Brac, beaches of islands Cres, Losinj, Kaprije, Hvar whit it’s Hell’s archipelago, St. Andrew islet of Elafiti islands and Baron Gautsch wreck near Rovinj. Be aware that individual diving is only permitted with the purchase of an individual permit and there are places where all the diving is prohibited. So do not go at Your own risk, no matter how patchy or bluish Adriatic undersea seems.
At last, not only sea beaches are glorified and inviting. There are little pieces of intact nature’s creations hidden behind the hills, between the slopes of mountains, fondled by the greenish blue streams of Croatian rivers and creeks. Under the falls of Skradin buk on the river Krka lays one of these beautiful inland beach treasures. Discover it’s sparkling grace, and You’ll must admit that the sea isn’t the only cure for tired body and slow thoughts. It will speed up Your blood like any other Croatian beach and leave You with inerasable scent of water clean beauty and sun traces on Your bare skin.
