Drvenik Veli is an island situated in Split's waterfront, northwest of Solta island. Drvenik Veli is the largest settlement on the island, and administratively belongs to the town Trogir. The surface of the island is 11.69 km² with the length of the coastline is 23.885 km. The highest peak of the island is Buhalj at a height of 178 m/nm. The island is surrounded by several smaller islands Krknjas Mali and Krknjas Veli, Orud and Macaknar. The coast of the island is quite indented, with many beautiful coves with sandy and pebble beaches where tourists enjoy the blue and crystal clear waters in the summer months.
