Apartments in Lastovo Skrivena Luka

On the southern part of the island Lastovo in archipelago of Split, there is a fairytale place called Skrivena Luka. Skrivena Luka actually means Hidden port. The name says for itself. It is also known as Portorus, and although it could not be spotted from the open sea due to the specific secluded formation of the bay, it is pretty easy to reach, weather you are trying to find it by maritime or local land roads. It is distanced seven kilometers from the town Lastovo and 17 kilometers from ferry port Ubli with frequent ferry lines connecting the island with Split.
According to the population census from 2001., Skrivena Luka had eighteen permanent residents in six husbandries. Yet, numerous connoisseurs seeking for magical places such this is, find lodging in private houses at kind hosts proud of the beauty of this bay and ecological environment they are lucky to enjoy. Beside private apartments and rooms, Skrivena Luka has a camp Skrivena hidden beneath tick olive tree tops. There are few restaurants providing  to a gourmand nomads tasty adventure reflected in traditional dishes, made from home grown ingredients with fresh fish, meat, vegetables. Some restaurants have their own berths. Since the bay has natural protection from all winds of the Adriatic, it is a favorite destination for anchoring a boat in a calm and silent cove.
The eastern part of Skrivena Luka, called the cape Struga, carries a lighthouse built in 1839. It is one of the oldest lighthouses in the Adriatic Sea. Renewed and still mysterious and appealing, it is available for holiday rent as well.
