Several kilometers from Grožnjan, on the road to Oprtalj, you`ll find Završje situated on a 240-meter high hill. Završje near Grožnjan was once surrounded by double walls, which are partly visible today. It has always been a place of farmers who breed cereals, olives and fruit. The historic core of Završje today is a protected urban area registered as cultural heritage of Croatia, with its most prominent churches, castles, and southern city gates.
The medieval castle was built in the 11th century and is also known as Contarini's palace. It consists of residential and commercial buildings. There is a stone road to the castle, and some ten meters further there is the church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of St. Rosary.
