The islands of Brač and Hvar have their own Dol, both are located in the interior of the island, this one on Brač not far from Postir. If you head from Postir towards the interior of the island, after only 2 kilometers you will come across an unusual sight - the village of Dol is a monument to traditional Dalmatian culture and architecture. The stone houses embedded in the green landscape are arranged in strange terraced structures, and the roofs are covered with stone slabs, almost no longer exist in a Mediterranean country. Dol is an open-air muse, a place you must visit even if you haven't rented an apartment or a holiday home in Dol itself. The environment, surrounded by olive groves and rare groves, emphasizes the sacred architecture, from the Renaissance church in the center of the Dol of the Blessed Virgin Mary to the old Croatian churches scattered on the surrounding hills, of which the one of St. Petra, which keeps the oldest bell on the island of Brač from the 14th century. Today, fewer than 200 people live in Dol, but Dol's taverns still offer traditional Brac specialties made from local lamb, as well as top-quality local wine and olive oil.
