Wherever you have rented an apartment, a room or a vacation house in Igrane, the parish church of Our Lady of the Rosary is easy to spot. There is a magnificent church tower beside it, which was built upon the model of St. Duje in Split. The bell tower was built from 1923 to 1925, but the church itself was built in the 18th century, namely in 1752. It was renovated and expanded in the early 20th century for a few times, so it shapes a Latin cross now. Franciscans were engaged here for the most time, who fled from the Turks from neighboring Bosnia centuries earlier, and their significance for Igrane was written down in the 17th century. The church is decorated with stained glass artist Jerome Šišljara and equipped with modern electronic organ. Last reconstruction has brought a new sound system and lighting and a pleasant atmosphere in which Holy Mass is served. Pick a sunny day for a tour of the parish church, because the hill on which was built keeps a magnificent view of the sea and the island of Hvar across.
