Omis is a town at Dalmatia, at the mouth of the river Cetina, and it belongs to Splitsko–Dalmatinska County. It is 21 kilometer southeastern of Split.
Total population of Omis is 15472 inhabitants, according to population census from the year 2001.

As it is a town, it has a solid number of hotels. But it also has other type of accommodation, such as a few camp sites, and numerous private apartments and villas for rent. During the summer season it is crowded with tourists as its location is ideal for many activities, such as rafting, paragliding, para-sailing, and also in the nearby are a few spots where tours go diving to see remains of sunken ships. Some sights which would be very interesting to visit and observe are Fortress Mirabela, Fortress Fortica, Franciscan Monastery, Church of St. Petar, Church of St Roko, City museum, Omis old graveyard, the medieval town core, Pillar of shame and the old city lodge and many other very interesting sights.
