Apartments in Petrčane

Petrcane is 900 year old village north of Zadar. It is a tourist destination and small port, 12 kilometers away from Zadar. It is located somewhere between Zadar and Nin. Due to the exceptional geographical position, Petrcane is the starting point for excursions to the islands and islets in the Zadar archipelago, just as for tours to the national parks Krka and Paklenica.

Total population of Petrcane is around 570 inhabitants. As this place has long tradition in fishing many locals are still engaged in fishing, although tourism became main industry.

Extremely beautiful long beach is 2 kilometers away from the center and offers many water sports. The area has several camps, and most of the private accommodations on offer are apartments, rooms, and pensions. There is also a small hotel, but main accommodation is in private arrangements. The special feature is a swimming pool with heated sea water. Gastronomic offer is fine and you will find several very good restaurants and taverns.

In the Middle Ages in Petrcane were property of the monastery of St. Krsevan and Platon. Southwest of Petrcane is the restored church of St. Bartul from 12th or 13th century with a massive bell tower on the front.
