Vir is a small island 26 kilometers far away from Zadar. The closest town is Nin which is 15 kilometers far away. It is connected with the mainland by a bridge. Vir is also a district on the same name island. Total area of Vir is 22,38km2, and its coastal line is 31,43 km long.
Total population of Vir is 1608 inhabitants, but during the summer is crowded by the tourists who really like this destination. Climate is naturaly Mediterranean with hot and dry summers and very mild winters.
Vir is full of beautiful bays and beaches, and very popular beach is the one where you can walk in a distance and you will still not reach deepness. Tourism is the main industry on the island, and mostly all locals are engaged in tourism. That is the reason why private apartments are the most popular accommodation type on the island.
